Hilda Steiger

Hilda Rosa Steiger of Mountaindale, NY, a retired para professional for the City of New York Public School System in Manhattan, NY, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY.  She was 86.

The daughter of Ramon and Horencia Diaz Moijca, she was born October 5, 1935 in Puerto Rico.

Hilda enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, painting and woodworking.

Survivors include three daughters, Hazel O’Sullivan of Accord, NY, Cheryl Steiger-Ticali of Mountaindale, NY; and Audrey Steiger of Woodridge, NY; one step-son, William Steiger of Westport, CT; and nine grandchildren, Shelby, Kathleen, Joshua, Shane, Hallie, Alyssa, Jordan, Leonardo, and Eve.  She was predeceased by one son.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Graveside services and burial will be Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1 PM in the Beth Moses Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
