Howard S. Miller of Jeffersonville, NY, a retired foreman for Asplund Tree Service, and a longtime area resident died Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was 89. The son of the late Marshall H. and Stella Boshinsky Miller, he was born July 24, 1927 in White Mills, PA.
Howard proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church since 1963, was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge # 521; and the Russell D. Sprague American Legion Post # 109. Howard enjoyed the outdoors while feeding the birds and ducks in his backyard, hunting, fishing and tending his gardens. He was especially happy spending time with his devoted family.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. Spitzer Miller, at home; one son, Howard E. Miller and his wife, Carla of Gouldsboro, PA; one daughter, Sheryl Taylor and her husband, the Rev. Thomas Taylor of Long Island, NY; one brother, Charles Miller and his wife, Leona of Clark Summit, PA; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Gary Miller; his daughter, Lenore Miller and a brother, Rex Miller.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, April 17th in the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church 3318 State Route 52, White Sulphur Springs, NY. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.
