Irene Gorman

Irene Gorman, a homemaker and a longtime resident of Neversink, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 93.

The daughter of the late Harry and Irene Thompson Lange, she was born June 1, 1923 in Staten Island, NY.

Irene's happiest times were spent out of doors. She especially loved gardening, swimming and fishing. She was a strong believer in service to her community and was very active in the Tri-Valley Lions Club and FFA Alumni. Irene was particularly proud of her Coast Guard service during the Second World War. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty.

Survivors include her children, Kathleen Erath (Bruce), Patricia Fletcher (Wayne), James Gorman, John Gorman (Marti) and Patrick Gorman; eleven grandchildren, James, William, Jennifer, Victoria, Andrew, Alexandra, Caitlin, Riane, Nolan, MaryKate and Daniel; one great grandchild, Mason; one sister, Eileen VanKeuren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband James J. Gorman in 1993; two sisters, Margaret Kelly in 2006 and Nina Lange; and one brother, Peter Lange.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
