Jacqulyn Amato of Downsville, NY a retired owner of the Eagle Hotel in Downsville, NY, and a longtime area resident died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton, NY. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Otto and Martha Willig Larsen, she was born January 20, 1924 in Hoboken, NJ.
Jacqulyn enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. In a family statement it was said, "She enjoyed life and loved the company of her family and friends."
Survivors include two sons, James Amato and his wife Jo Ann of Downsville, NY, and David Amato and his wife Brenda of Downsville, NY; one daughter, Diane Edwards and her husband Glenn of Downsville, NY; one daughter-in-law, Joan Amato; one brother, Edward Larsen and his wife Elsie of South Plainfield, NJ; and eight grandchildren, Lisa, Tony, Travis, Justin, Michael, Dominick, Brian, and Chuck; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Amato; one son, Charles D. Amato; one sister, Martha Sansevere; and one brother, Earl Larsen.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 12 Noon to 3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave.,Roscoe,NY.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 3 PM in the funeral home. Father Michael Shank will officiate.
Burial will be in the Paige Cemetery, in the Spring.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 15121 Main St. Downsville, NY 13755.
