James L. Cole, Sr. of Andover, NJ and formerly of Ferndale, NY, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Andover Subacute & Rehabilitation Center, Andover, NJ. He was 74.
The son of the late Raymond and Beatrice Beadle Cole, he was born October 8, 1942 in Liberty, NY.
James was a lifelong area resident and retired as owner of Cole Farms; he had owned Susie-Q Hobby Shop; and had been a truck driver for several transport companies. He enjoyed model railroading, chasing trains, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include one son, James L. Cole, Jr. of Ferndale, NY; two daughters, Robyn Cole of TX and Susan Cole of PA; two brothers, Lee Cole of Jacksonville, FL and Raymond Cole of Woodbourne, NY; one sister, Patricia McArthur of Ferndale, NY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Ruth Cole DeGroot.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Bernadine Hust; and one son, Christopher Cole.
Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2017 from 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 3 PM in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
