James Stevens

James "Craig" Stevens of Roscoe, NY, a retired heavy equipment operator for BB & L Construction in Albany, NY and a life long area resident died Saturday, March, 14, 2015 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 62.

The son of Muriel Drumm Stevens and the late Ward Stevens, he was born November 16, 1952 in Hancock, NY.

Craig was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the NRA.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Petersen Stevens at home; his mother, Muriel Drumm Stevens of Deposit, NY; three sons, Michael Stevens and his wife Mindy of Deposit, NY, Christopher Stevens and his wife Sara of Minot, ND and Anthony Stevens of Hancock, NY; seven brothers, Ward Stevens, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Deposit, NY, Richard Stevens of No. Sanford, NY, Lawrence Stevens and his wife Denise of Deposit, NY, Jack Stevens of Deposit, NY, Jerald Stevens of Deposit, NY, Randy Stevens of Deposit, NY; two sisters, Ginny Weber and her husband Bill of Skaneateles, NY and Louise Lail and her husband Peter of TN; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Ward Stevens and by one sister, Gloria Benagus.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 4-6 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Burial will be in the Cooks Falls Cemetery, Cooks Falls, NY in the spring.

Memorial contributions in Craig's name may be made to the R & R Vol. Ambulance Corp., P. O. Box 321, Roscoe, NY 12776.
