Janette Krom

Janette May Krom of Liberty, NY a home maker and a long time area died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 89.

The daughter of the late Hiram and Jessie Walley Barriger, she was born July 30, 1923 in Franklin, NY.

Janette was a loving mother and was always willing to lend a hand to help others. She loved gardening and shared it with her family and friends. She always looked forward in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was also very special to them. They will always have special memories of times spent with her.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. Crandall and her husband Robert of Reisterstown, MD and Ms. Ramona M. Miranda of Pembrooke Pines, FL; two sons, Samuel L. Krom of Liberty, NY and Robert L. Krom of Ferndale, NY; two brothers, Donald Barriger and his wife Margaret of Walton, NY and Raymond Barriger of Masonville, NY; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Charles F. Phelps, three brothers, Kenneth, Paul and Hiram, Jr. and by one sister, Flossie Barriger-Shelley.

Visitation will be Friday (today), April 12, 2013 from 5-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. John Thomason will officiate.

Burial will be in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin, NY.

Memorial contributions in Janette's name may be made to the Liberty Methodist Church 170 Main Street, Liberty, NY.
