Jo Katz

Jo Ann Katz of Liberty, NY a retired nurse and a lifelong area resident lost her valiant fight against a brief illness on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Skilled Nursing Unit at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. Jo Ann entered into peaceful rest to be with God as her children were at her side. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Robert C. and Ruth Bengel Hutchinson, she was born September 16, 1936 in Monticello, NY.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Katz and his wife Teresa of Liberty, NY; three daughters, Nancy Katz-Parsons and her husband Raymond Rupert of Liberty, NY, Sara Kelz and her companion Robert Botsford of Grahamsville, NY, and Emily McNamara and her husband Michael of Hurleyville, NY; seven grandchildren and many very dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Eddie" Katz.

Visitation will be Saturday (today), April 6, 2013 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 1 PM in the funeral home. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Private burial will be in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Jo Ann's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
