Joan Ginhoven

Joan L. Van Ginhoven of Long Eddy, NY died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her home.

Joan was born in Callicoon on September 28, 1966 to Earl Van Ginhoven and Eloise McKeon. She was a rare and special person and her death has come unexpectedly and unnecessarily. She was not average, she was not ordinary, she did not try to fit in. She was born to stand out.

She was very good at her job of taking care of the mentally and physically challenged and her spare time was spent with her love of music and being the artist she was in her heart. We will miss her delicious food and cakes. We will miss her smile. It is a sad world where the depressed and distraught cannot find adequate healthcare.

She is survived by her mother, Eloise and step-father, Michael McKeon; her sister, Susan and her husband, Joseph Noren and family. She was predeceased by her beloved father, Earl Van Ginhoven.

Cherish every moment with your family and friends. If a relationship is in need of repair, repair it. There may be no tomorrow. Make sure you tell them you love them.
