Joan Patricia Houghtaling Fancher of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired employee of Kol-Mar Labs in Port Jervis, NY and a long time area resident died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred Paddock Houghtaling, she was born March 7, 1936 in Hardyston Township, NJ.
Joan was a graduate of Vernon High School and is a former owner of Fancher Mobile Home Sales and Park in Liberty, NY.
Survivors include five sons, John Fancher and his wife Donna of Sanford, NC, Edwin Fancher of Liberty, NY, Kenneth Fancher of Liberty, NY, Mark Fancher and his wife Lynn of Liberty, NY, and David Fancher and his wife Teresa of White Sulphur Springs, NY; one daughter, Anita Houghtaling and her husband Rudy, Jr. of Liberty, NY; two brothers, Alfred Houghtaling, Jr. of White Sulphur Springs, NY and Rudy Houghtaling, Sr. and his wife Marilyn of Liberty, NY; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Iva, Louise, and Janet; by three brothers, Monroe, Warren, and Pierson; and by a grandson, John Fancher, Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 11 AM - 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
Memorial contributions in Joan's name may be made to the Sullivan County SPCA, P. O. Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
