Joann Hummel

JoAnn Hasbrouck Hummel of Liberty, NY a retired sales clerk and a life long area resident died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY.  She was 73.

The daughter of the late Donald V. “Footsie” and Vivian A. Martin Hasbrouck she was born February 26, 1944 in Liberty, NY.

JoAnn was a communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Liberty NY; she enjoyed cooking and baking cakes.  She loved animals and enjoyed feeding deer from the back door of her home.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Hummel of Monticello, NY and Craig Hummel of Grahamsville, NY; one brother, Thomas Hasbrouck of Liberty, NY; one sister, Vicki Wood and her husband Matthew of Claryville, NY; five grandchildren, Dylan, Heather, Lisa, Andrew, and Tyler; six great grandchildren, including Thea, Shawn Jr., Emma and A.J.; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Phyllis Maxwell.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lester “Les” Hummel in 1989; and one grandson, Shawn.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 PM in the funeral home. Father William Scafidi will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.
