John Burke

John J. Burke of Roscoe, NY, a retired employee for the United States Department of Defense and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home. He was 96.

The son of the late John and Marie Kelleher Burke, he was born July 2, 1918 in Jersey City, NJ.

John proudly served Our Country in the United States Army during WWII.

John was the oldest of seven children; his survivors include one sister, Marie Smith and her husband Eugene of Okemos, MI; one brother, Robert Burke of Huddleston, VA; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Mark, Joseph, and William Burke.

Graveside services and burial with military honors will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, NY in the Spring.
