John Doland

John H. Doland of Liberty, NY, a Head cook at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 53.

The son of Joan C. VanSteenburg Doland and the late Robert Doland, he was born December 5, 1957 in Buffalo, NY.

John was an avid NY Yankee fan and he loved cooking.

Survivors include three sons: Benjamin Doland of Liberty, NY, Robert Doland and Sean Doland both of Parksville, NY; one daughter, Victoria Doland of Parksville, NY; his mother, Joan Doland of Liberty, NY; two brothers, mark Doland of Liberty, NY and Michael Doland of Florida; three sisters, Jackie Goldworm of Idaho, Denise Doland of Liberty, NY and Robin LaBagh and her husband, Austin of Youngsville, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, February 11 in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, February 11 in the funeral home. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.
