John J. Salvia of Livingston Manor, NY and Vero Beach, FL, a retired New York City Police Officer died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home. He was 81.
The son of the late Charles and Anna Ruggiero Salvia, he was born July 6, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY.
During John’s retirement he enjoyed wood working and umpiring volleyball and baseball games.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Alice Salvia, at home; two sons, John Salvia and his wife Kathy of Northville, MI and Michael Salvia and his wife Prin; one daughter, Diane Franke and her husband Richard of Livingston Manor, NY; one son-in-law, Richard Meihoefer of Bethel, NY; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn, John and his wife Nicole, Vincent, Marissa, Kathryn, Michael, Christine, Richard, Jr., Joseph and Richard.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Theresa Meihoefer.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Father William Scafidi will officiate.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngsville, NY.
