John Wagner

John W. Wagner of Liberty, NY, the retired owner of Asphalt Distributing, Liberty, NY and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 87.

The son of the late Edward and Lena Herbert Wagner, he was born November 4, 1926 in Long Eddy, NY.

John served Our Country in the US Army during WWII ; he was a member of the Catskill Region AACA.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Hyzer Wagner, at home; one daughter, Jeanine DeCastro and her husband John of Liberty, NY; one granddaughter, Jill Atkins and her husband Corey of Liberty, NY; one sister, Susanne Soules of Youngsville, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, James Wagner.

Visitation will be Wednesday February 19, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Obernberg, NY.
