John Yaskanich

John W. Yaskanich of Liberty, NY, a lifelong area resident died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty, NY.  He was 79.

The son of the late John and Marilla Briggs Yaskanich, he was born February 4, 1938 in Liberty, NY.

John proudly served Our Country in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959; he worked for many years for Community General Hospital in Harris, NY. He was an adored father, brother, uncle and friend to all, he will be deeply missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, daughter, Tialisa Whipple and her husband Michael of Neversink, NY; his sons, Robert Yaskanich of Liberty, NY and Jaime Yaskanich of Bethel, NY; his siblings, Ethel Powell of Madera, CA, Mary Yaskanich of Monticello, NY and Helen Bound and her husband Edward of Grahamsville, NY; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Victor John Yaskanich and his brothers, Edwin, Roy, William, Dwight, Andrew and James.

Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2017 from 2 to 3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3 PM in the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
