Joseph Feeney

Joseph M. Feeney of Bethel, NY and formerly of Roscoe, NY; a retired sheet metal worker and long time area resident, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at his home. He was 85.

The son of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina Ecker Feeney, he was born January 9, 1931 in Bronx, NY.

Joe had been a Communicant of the Gate of Heaven Church, he had worked for many years with Local # 28 and #38 of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He was a member of the Town of Bethel Senior Citizens Group and is a former Family Care Provider where he had served as an Executive Officer at several levels. He was an avid NY Mets fan. In a family statement, " Dad was a very hard working, strong man that always provided above and beyond for his family, all his life."

Survivors include five sons, James Feeney and his wife Donna of Roscoe, NY, Joseph Feeney and his wife Ann of Clayton, NC, Robert Feeney of Bethel, NY, Gregory Feeney and his wife Patti of Roscoe, NY and Kevin Feeney of Bethel, NY; a daughter-in-law, Donna D. Feeney of Jeffersonville, NY; two brothers, Teddy Ecker of MA and Donald Feeney and his wife Eleanor of CA; two sisters, Patricia Martin of Long Island and Gerry Truman and her husband Bob of FL; fifteen grandchildren, Danielle, Jamie, Jessica, Christina, Joe, Philicia, Richard, Robert, Ryan, Greg, Alex, Angel, KJ, Jamie and Noah; eleven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary C. Rhatigan Feeney on Nov. 20, 1996.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10 AM in the Gate of Heaven Church Highland Ave., Roscoe, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
