Joseph Lorincz of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired electrical engineer for Electrical Products, Industry, New York City, NY and a long time area resident passed away peacefully Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Rosary Hill Home, Thornwood, NY. He was 76.
The son of the late Yorsef and Ilaria Vlasifs Lorincz, he was born August 16, 1938 in Budapest, Hungary. He became a United States citizen on June 9, 1982.
Joe was retired from Leviton Manufacturing and later worked as a Security Guard at Community General Hospital, Harris, NY. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 445. Many would recognize Joe's smiling face at the polls in Liberty as he was an inspector for the Sullivan County Board of Elections. Joe had a love of learning, reading, and enjoyed his gardens. He was a loyal friend and will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Survivors include his good friends, Thomas Totten and his companion, Cheryl Poling of White Sulphur Springs, NY and Colleen Connell of Brooklyn, NY; and his relatives in Hungary and Sweden.
Joe was well cared for by the Catskill Regional Medical Center Oncology Unit nurses and would have wanted them to know how much he appreciated the good care they gave him.
