Joyce P. Bowers of Roscoe, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Raymond and Anna Davis Welch, she was born January 17, 1931 in Arcade, NY.
Joyce had worked at the Tennanah Blake House in Tennanah Lake for many years.
Survivors include her husband Burr M. Bowers, Jr., at home; two daughters, Patricia Hendrix and her husband John of Roscoe, NY, and Roxanne Lake and her husband Tom of Roscoe, NY; two sons, Burr Bowers III and his wife Dianna of Roscoe, NY, and Earl "Skip" Bowers of Roscoe, NY; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Laverne Welch and Charles Welch; and two sisters, Mildred Decker and Irene Boyer.
Visitation will be Thursday (today), January 31, 2013 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. David Collins will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery Roscoe, NY, in the Spring.
