Joyce Lockhart

Joyce C. Lockhart of Grahamsville, NY passed away peacefully on April 10, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was 80.

The daughter of the late Andrew and Teresa Frondi Besold, she was born October 1, 1933 in Englewood, NJ.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Through her 80 years, she volunteered and offered her time to many clubs and organizations, including the Columbiettes, the Nanuet Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Tri-Valley Lions Club, she volunteered on the Board of Elections, assisted the Tri-Valley Townsman, the American Cancer Society, the Right to Life, and was a member of the Sullivan County Historic Society.

She loved gardening, reading, and watching old classic movies; she and Mert were often seen at the local church suppers. Her greatest joy was her family; she loved being with her grandchildren, laughing at their antics and watching them grow.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years and her high school sweetheart, Merton C. Lockhart, Jr.; her son, Gary Lockhart and his wife Teri; her daughter, Pamela Zanetti and her husband Keith; one brother-in-law, David Lockhart; four grandchildren, Amy Hicks (Charlie), Tara Poje (Frankie), Kelsi Lockhart (David), and Wade Lockhart; five great grandchildren, Cecelia, Kane, Anthony, Vinny, and Joseph, all of Grahamsville, NY

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be private.Burial will be private in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.

Memorial contributions in Joyce's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
