She was born in Queens, NY on November 5, 1941 to the late Patricia O’Brien and Joseph Courchesne.  She was positively influenced by her maternal grandmother, Margaret Wolbrett O’Brien Savarese, her step father, Al Sandwina and stepfather Ralph Galli.  Raised in Haines Falls, NY during her teen years she graduated Hunter-Tannersville Central School, where she excelled as a cheerleader and majorette.  Karin always had a love of dance, she danced professionally and taught dance at The Lexington School for the Deaf.  She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and a member of the Hurleyville Ambulance Squad.  Later in life, she worked as a NYS Corrections Officer, working alongside her husband.  She enjoyed cheering on the Mets, Jets and Rangers.  She was always supportive of her son’s musical interest and aspirations even joining them on stage occasionally.  She was an exceptionally loving and caring woman whose heart was led by her strong Christian faith.  She was an avid bowler, animal lover and donated to many worthwhile causes.  Her smile and laughter will be missed by all that loved her.
