Kenneth Mears

Kenneth R. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY, the retired owner of Mears Tile Company in Livingston Manor and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Roscoe Regional Rehab and Residential Care Facility in Roscoe, NY. He was 87.

The son of the late Edwin R. and Edith Davis Mears, he was born August 10, 1925 in Livingston Manor, NY.

Kenneth was a Charter Member of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild; a member of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center; a member of the Roscoe NY O&W Railway Museum; a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop # 105, Livingston Manor, NY and a former thirty years Treasurer for Cub Pack # 105, Livingston Manor, NY.

Survivors include one son, Allan B. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY; one daughter, Linda A. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY; one brother, John Mears and his wife Fay of Livingston Manor, NY; two sisters, Ruth Yager of Deland, FL and Katherine Levitt and her husband Wayne of Bradley, NY; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty I. Gransbury Mears on April 9, 2011.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, at 8:30 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. James Persons will officiate.

Graveside services and burial will be in the Cooks Falls Cemetery, Cooks Falls, NY on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11 AM.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth's name may be made to the Catskill Fly Fishing Center Museum 1031 Old Route 17, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
