Kenneth Russell

Kenneth S. Russell of Liberty, NY, a retired truck driver for the United Parcel Service, Ferndale, NY and a long time area resident, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at home. He was 81.

The son of the late Clarke and Hilda Johnson Russell, he was born August 9, 1934 in Montrose, PA.

Kenneth proudly served Our Country in the US Army from 1954 to 1956; he was a devoted Christian who loved his family and Christ; he attended the Liberty Baptist Church; he was an avid New York Yankee fan. He had worked for the United Parcel Service for 33 years.

Survivors include his wife Dolores E. Olsen Russell, at home; four daughters, Debra Hawley and her husband Tim, Dorothy Russell, Evelyn D. Grese and her husband John, and Virginia A. Palma and her husband John; five sons, Alan C. Russell and his wife Debbie, Stephen J. Russell and his wife Jolene, Philip J. Russell and his wife Sharon, William A. Russell and his wife Carla, and Irving Russell; one sister, Joella Beasley; 19 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Charles C. Russell.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 12 Noon - 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Brian Russell will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd., Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth's name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
