Leona E. Sherwood of Livingston Manor, NY, a retired spray booth operator at Sherwood Mill's Ten Pin factory in Livingston Manor and a lifetime area resident died Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Allan and Permelia Biggs VanLoan, she was born March 30, 1927 in Livingston Manor, NY.
Leona enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She will be remembered for her delicious Christmas fudge.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence Sherwood and his wife Julie of Livingston Manor, NY and Donald Sherwood and his wife Alyce of Livingston Manor, NY; one daughter, Doris Rose of Belfair, WA; ten grandchildren, Joel, Brian, Shane, Heather, Allanna, Graig, Karen, Dennis, Barbara and Ellen; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Sherwood and a daughter, Robin Ford.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Mr. Ralph Bressler will officiate.
Burial will be in the Orchard Street Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
