Loretta J. McGar

Loretta J. McGar of Liberty, NY, a retired line worker for Guild Molders in Middletown, NY and a longtime area resident died Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was 71.

 

The daughter of the late Albert and Dolores Conklin Gunderman, she was born November 25, 1951 in Port Jervis, NY.

 

David and Loretta had worked together for over thirty years at Guild Molders.  Loretta loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world.  Her new great granddaughter made her the happiest the family has seen.  Her family wishes her an easy and peaceful eternal rest.

 

Survivors include her devoted husband of 55 years, David T. McGar at home; one son, Patrick McGar and wife Dale of Wurtsboro, NY; one daughter, Melinda Pitula and husband Gregg of Walton, NY; her grandchildren, Ryan Harnish and wife Shelby of Parksville, NY, Alexis Harnish and fiancé Sheldon Trembley of Wurtsboro, NY, Brenden McGar and Catlin of Wurtsboro, NY, Rhylie Hill of Walton, NY, and one great granddaughter, Raelynne Harnish of Parksville, NY; five sisters, Pauline Emerick of Las Vegas, NV, Louanne Kenely of Montrose, PA, Frances Somers of PA, Martha Lawton of PA, and Barbara Gunderman of Indiana; one brother,

Ron Gunderman of Ellenville, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Danny and Louie Gunderman.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 noon in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

 

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 12 noon in the funeral home.  Pastor Gary O'Conner will officiate.

 

Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.
