Louise Kirk

Louise Marie Kirk of Liberty, NY, a lifelong area resident, passed quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty, NY. She was 93.

The daughter of the late Edward and Wilhelmina Fritz Abplanalp, she was born December 16, 1919 in Briscoe, NY.

Louise had worked for Bernie Newman's Shop in Liberty and later became the owner; she is a former member of the Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corp; a former volunteer at the Liberty Methodist Church thrift shop; and she enjoyed playing the organ.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Kirk of Wilder, VT; one niece, Diane Kirk of FL; and four grandchildren, Heather, Douglas, Robert, and Joseph, all of CA.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William Campbell Kirk; one son, William George Kirk; and by her loving partner, Ellsworth "Bucky" Buck.

Graveside services and burial will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10AM in the Liberty Cemetery, Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY. The Rev. Francis Waite will officiate.
