Mabel Heisler

Mabel E. Heisler of Liberty, NY, a retired bookkeeper and a lifelong area resident died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, Liberty, NY. She was 90.

The daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Hays Johansen, she was born May 10, 1925 in Liberty, NY.

Mabel was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Timothy J. Heisler and his wife Marisa of Liberty, NY; four daughters, Barbara Shapiro of White Sulphur Springs, NY, Linda Frost and her husband Gordon of Tennessee, Sharon Fletcher and her husband Charles of Georgia, and Susan Bromm and her husband John of Sandown, NH; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one step son, William J. Heisler and his wife Pat of New Port News, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William A. Heisler, Jr. in 2004 and by her sister, Lillian Seeley.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11 AM in the Liberty United Methodist Church Main Street, Liberty, NY. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Private burial will be in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.
