Madeline Degroot

Madeline "Maggie" DeGroot of Ferndale, NY, a retired waitress for Grossinger's Resort, Liberty, NY, and a long time area resident, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Daniel P. and Madeline Butler Tierney, she was born March 9, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY.

Maggie was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Liberty, NY.

Survivors include one sister, Dolly Tierney of Brooklyn, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

Maggie was predeceased by her husband Robert W. DeGroot in 2003; and one sister, Josephine Moreno.

Graveside services and burial will be Monday, April 6, 2015 at 10 AM in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.
