Marcia G. Bauer of Hankins, NY a retired Registered Nurse and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, November 7, 2024 at her home, with her family at her side. She was 83.
The daughter of the late Louis and Thelma Hughes Hoffmann, she was born June 26, 1941 in Roscoe, NY.
Marcia was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Callicoon, NY and a member of the Rosary Society. She worked at the Delaware Valley Central School District and retired as the School Nurse; in later years she was a substitute Nurse at Sullivan West Central School District. Marcia volunteered at the Thrift Shop and for RSVP transportation services.
She had a green thumb and enjoyed her flower gardens; she loved getting out of the house and going for walks and was an excellent baker. Marcia was a hard worker, she could be seen working on the farm with her straw hat, raking the fields.
Survivors include her loving husband, Leonard Bauer, at home; her children, Michael Bauer and his wife Julie, Annette Bauer, Stephen Bauer, Richard Bauer, Katrina Swett and her husband Jon, and Theresa Parson and her husband Jimmy; her grandchildren, Lindsey Bauer and her husband Louis Takacs, Lucas Bauer, Jonah Bauer and Noah Bauer, Lily Swett, James Swett, and Philip Swett; her siblings, Charlotte Ida Rosenberger, Kay Bacon, and Linda Charnock and her husband Tom; sisters-in-law, Laura Bauer and Kathleen Abram and her husband Douglas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, George Rosenberger, James Bacon, Robert Bauer, and Roger Bauer.
Visitation will be Monday, November 11, 2024 from 12 Noon to 1 PM in Holy Cross Church, 9719 State Route 97, Callicoon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1 PM in the church. Father John Kennady, MMI will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Obernburg, NY.
