Margery M. Van Ginhoven

Margery M. Van Ginhoven of Roscoe, NY, a retired High School Secretary for the Delaware Valley Central School District in Callicoon, NY and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY.  She was 90.

The daughter of the late Floyd A. and Edna J. Bogert Mootz, she was born July 9, 1933 in Callicoon, NY.

Margery was a member of the United Church of Roscoe and the Ladies Aide at the church, and a member of the Roscoe-Rockland Chamber of Commerce.  Over the years she had a silk flower business and a millinery business.  She enjoyed traveling, dancing and crafts.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Slaughter and her husband Steve of Long Eddy, NY, Deborah Carey of Long Eddy, NY and Nancy Hadden and her husband Clark "Yogi" of Livingston Manor, NY; one brother, Edwin F. Mootz and his wife Ruth of Florida; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11 AM in the funeral home.  Layreader Sharon Branning will officiate.

Burial will be in the Callicoon Center Cemetery, Callicoon Center, NY.
