Mary Granger

Mary Alice Granger of South Fallsburg, NY, a homemaker and a long time area resident, died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY.  She was 65.

The daughter of the late Jacob Grangers and Kizzie Rivers was born February 6, 1954 in Apopular, FL.

At the age of four Mary moved to 157th street and Linden Blvd where she was raised with her 7 siblings. She attended Shimar H.S in Jamaica, Queens.

Mary had four brothers, Jimmy Rivers, Johnny Will Rivers, Lloyd Rivers, Jr., and Napoleon Rivers; and three sisters, Sallie Powell, Rosa Green and she leaves behind to mourn her, sister Hester Singleton; one brother-in-law, Bobby Green; two sisters-in-law, Dyenither Rivers and Lizze Rivers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; she also leaves behind her loving nurse, Kim, and Kim’s family who she called her grandkids.

We didn't know that when you left home you were going away, we prayed for your return, but you stole away.  We hope someday we will meet you around God's throne, sleep on my baby sister, we love you but God loves you best.

Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Funeral services will be at 1 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Annie Green will officiate.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
