Michael Hogan of Downsville, NY, a retired detective for homeless services with the NYPD in New York City, NY and a long time area resident, died Monday January 7, 2019 at his home. He was 69.
The son of the late Michael P. and Josephine Briatico Hogan, he was born March 21, 1949 in Yonkers, NY.
Michael proudly served Our Country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War; he was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Downsville, NY; a former captain and member of the Blooming Grove Ambulance Corp.; a member of the National Rifle Association; and had been the NYPD Detective of the Year in 2009. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed making bird houses. Michael’s favorite saying was, “it’s all good!”
Survivors include his wife, Gloria J. Gordon Hogan, at home; one brother, William Hogan and his wife Sandy of GA; two sisters, Marilyn Schmidt of Blooming Grove, NY and Michelle Starpoli-Koch and her husband Kenneth of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2 PM in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Main Street, Downsville, NY.
