Midge Roth

Midge H. Roth of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired teacher's aide for the Liberty Central School District at the White Sulphur Springs School, and a life long area resident, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at her home. She was 88.

The daughter of the late Austin and Helen Robertson LaBagh, she was born December 25, 1928 in Orange County, NY.

Midge was a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and a member of the WSS United Methodist Women's Group; she was a Charter member and active in the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; and she is a former member of the White Sulphur Springs Cemetery Board of Trustees. Midge enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Verkey and her husband, Rodney of Seneca Falls, NY and Diane Roth Palm of Oklahoma City, OK; one son, Edwin Roth and his wife, Sandy of Livingston Manor, NY; her grandchildren, Jason Verkey, Matthew Verkey, Andrew Verkey, Charlie Roth, Chad Roth, Melissa Diehl, Erika Kessenich and Braden Palm; a sister in law, Evelyn Case; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Roth on September 9, 2001.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY. The Ladies Auxiliary of the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department will conduct services Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
