Minard Branning

Minard "Mike" Branning of Livingston Manor, NY, a retired superintendent for Roscoe Central School District and a lifelong area resident died Monday June 13, 2016 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 92.

The son of the late Minard and Anna McCullough Branning, he was born December 13, 1923 in Roscoe, NY.

Mike proudly served Our Country in the US Navy during World War II; he was a past President of the Student Body at SUNY Cortland; a former member of the Roscoe Kiwanis; a former member of the Livingston Manor Rotary; a former Town of Rockland Councilman; an avid golfer and fisherman; and a New York Giants Fan. He enjoyed attending Big Band Concerts. Mike was a loving and devoted husband and a proud father to his four sons; he enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Mitchell Branning, at home; four sons, Scott Branning and his wife Sharon of Livingston Manor, NY, Michael Branning of Madison, VA, Richard Branning and his wife Maritza of Denville, NJ, and William Branning and his wife Stacey of Ashville, NC; seven grandchildren, Rory, Kaitrin, Brian, Brendan, Patrick, Zabrina and Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Brian Branning.

Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 11 AM to 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Virginia Bossley will officiate.

Private burial will be in the family plot with his son in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
