Myrtle Henkelman

Myrtle L. Henkelman of Liberty, NY a life long area resident, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her home. She was 98.

The daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary L. Schenck Roser, she was born October 5, 1923 in Livingston Manor, NY.

Myrtle had retired as a secretary for Dr. James Spina; she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Liberty, NY and a former member of the Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corp.; she enjoyed baking and crafts and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Huebsch and her husband Gene of Liberty, NY and Marie Bagley and her husband Michael of Youngsville, NY; her son, William “Bill” Henkelman of Liberty, NY; four grandchildren, Donna, Todd, Daron and Jennifer; eleven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Henkelman in 2010.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Funeral services will begin at 1 PM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Carl Caskey will officiate.

Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
