Nathan Friedman of Harris, NY, a retired Forman for Local # 17, and a longtime area resident died Wednesday,
March 15, 2017 at the Andover Subacute and Rehab. Center in Andover, NJ. He was 92.
The son of the late Abraham and Yetta Smilowitz Friedman, he was born July 11, 1924 in Bronx, NY.
Nathan proudly served our country in the US Army during WW II and is a former member of the Jewish War Veterans;
He is a former driver for the Sullivan County Office of the Aging and a former Little League Coach. He was an
avid animal lover.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Friedman of San Jose, CA and William Friedman and his wife Joanne of Harris, NY;
one grandson, Scott Friedman and his wife Jennifer of San Antonio, Texas; two great grandsons, Nathan and
Brandon Friedman, and several nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Yetta Friedman and later by
his second wife Helen McGill Friedman; also by two infant sons, Raymond and Stephen Friedman.
Graveside services with military honors and burial will be Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Mt. Moriah Cemetery
Fairview, NJ. Rabbi Staimler will officiate.
