Olive Stone

Olive "Peaches" Stone of Liberty, NY, a longtime area resident passed away April 17, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Henry and Olive Purcell Wells, she was born January 15, 1938 in Accord, NY.

Survivors include her three daughters, Desiree Stone of Maine, Louise James of Brooklyn, NY and Courtney James of Liberty, NY; one sister, Louise Stienhilber of South Carolina; one brother Charles Wells of Rifton, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and a handful of grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Thomas Skiff; three brothers, Julius Wells, John Wells and Donald Bebee; and two sisters, Mildred Wells and Henrietta Cox.

Olive enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, playing bingo and poker.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10 am - 12 noon in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

"I called few friends but many acquaintances. To them I say remember me for who and what I was, whether you liked me didn't matter then and doesn't matter now. But I hope I brought something to your life, good, bad or indifferent, I existed."
