Oscar Mir

Oscar Nestor Mir, a self employed plumber and a long time resident of Park Slope, Brooklyn and Town of Liberty, NY passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his home.  He was 65.

The son of Nestor and Emilia S. Mir, he was born August 6, 1954 in Banes, Cuba.

In earlier years, he enjoyed traveling, deep sea diving and underwater photography.  Oscar was an avid hunter, fisherman, and nature lover.  He enjoyed daily visits to his parent’s house for a good cup of Cuban coffee.  Oscar spent his final years enjoying his home in Swan Lake and growing vegetables in his garden.  The love of his life and greatest pride was his son, Jason. Rest In Peace Oscar.

Survivors include his son, Jason Parker (Stephanie); his parents, Nestor and Emilia Mir; his siblings, Robert J. Mir (Ann) and Araceli Mir-Pontier (Glenn); his nephews, Bryan Useo and Christopher Useo; his nieces, Nicole Slevin, Tanya Mir, Brianna Mir, Hannah Mir, and Elena Mir; his grandsons, Joseph Ximo Parker and Jaxon Hugo Parker; great nephews, Elijah and Asher Useo as well as many cousins, his aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday October 25, 2019 at 8PM in the funeral home.  Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Burial will be private in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Oscar’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
