Otto Hillig Bressler of Liberty, NY, a retired produce manager at the Great American, Liberty, NY, and a lifelong area resident died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home. He was 76.
The son of the late Herman and Elsa Hillig Bressler, he was born February 13, 1939 in Liberty, NY.
Otto proudly served Our Country in the US Army; he had worked at the Great American for over 30 years; he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Liberty, NY; a 50 year member, a past president, and a former trustee of the Liberty Hose & Truck Company #2; and a member of the Corporal Russell D. Sprague American Legion Post # 109, Liberty, NY.
Survivors include one sister, Edna York and her husband Wayne of Liberty, NY; one brother-in-law, Robert "Jack" Sherwood of Livingston Manor, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Herman Bressler and his wife Mildred; seven sisters, Elsie Kelly and her husband William, Alma Curran, Olga Fritz and her husband Carlton, Marguerite Rupert, Helen Sherwood, Irmgard Starr and her husband Henry, and Gretel McCausland and her husband Elwood.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 2 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
Memorial contributions in Otto's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
