Patti Green

Patti L. Green of Liberty, NY, a lifelong area resident, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY, with her children at her side.  She was 65.

The daughter of Luther “Allie” Hasbrouck and the late Mardelle Reich, Patti was born June 14, 1957, in Liberty, NY.

Patti was born and raised in Liberty. As a 1975 Liberty High School graduate, Patti exemplified Liberty Pride and continued to do so for more than thirty years through her work as a secretary at the Liberty Central School District. Patti found the most joy in her daily interactions with the children and staff at the elementary school. From phones to people to buses, Patti handled the business of the main office. She calendared the annual school events, managed the school budget, reported to the state, created schedules, and spear-headed Safety Patrol. She was the go-to person for all things Liberty. Because of her dedication to the district, Patti won the Sullivan County School Boards Association Friend to Education Award in 2021.

Patti was well-connected to the community and worked at Great American after school for several years. She balanced the books, ran the register, and supervised the other cashiers. Patti enjoyed spending Saturday nights with her friends and family playing cards and board games. She was an avid New York Giants fan and would prepare her favorite game day snacks every Sunday. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Michael Green of Liberty, NY and Christopher Green of Liberty, NY; her sisters, Nancy McCarthy and her husband Jim of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Judie Tatz and her husband Bob of Ft. Myers, FL; her grandchildren Madison Pettit of Hudson Falls, NY, and Jasmine Green of Liberty, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles “Butch” Green and her sister Barbara Knack from Rosedale, MD.

All proceeds will go toward new playground equipment at the Liberty Elementary School in honor of Patti Green who spent her life and career working for the children of Liberty.
