Paula Fried

Paula Fried (Nee Luyckx) of Freeport, NY died March 17, 2018 surrounded by the love of family and friends.  She was 95.  Paula was a daughter of the late Marcel and Margriet Luyckx of Mariaberg, Belgium. Born in Antwerp in 1922, the 6th of 13 children. Paula met and married a travelling American, Peter John Fried, of New York City. She became an American citizen and started a new chapter of her life moving to New York City in 1952. She enjoyed laughter and the light hearted company of others, sewing, music, dancing and the arts.

She is survived by her sisters and brother, Angele Dheere, Godelief, Emmy Mertens, and Jan Luyckx, of Belgium; her three children, Maud Goodnight, Clay Fried, Guy Fried, and grandchildren, Ryan and Jamison, Jake and Claude, Tristan and Tatiana, and great grandchildren, Emeline, Talia, and Violet, and many new beloved family, nieces and nephews, in America and abroad.

A memorial mass will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1 PM in the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe, NY.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe, NY.
