Penelope Shaw

Penelope B. Shaw of Deland, FL, and Lew Beach, NY, a retired freelance artist, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. She was 70.

The daughter of Ralph W. Shaw, Jr. and the late Elizabeth Purdy Shaw, she was born January 9, 1944 in Mt. Kisco, NY.

Penelope was an active member of the Westside Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ, for over 55 years; a new member of the First Presbyterian Church of Deland, FL; a graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC and a graduate of the New School in NYC. Penny was an Art Director at Russ Berry for 13 years and had worked for Trader Joe's for 8 years.

Survivors include her father, Ralph W. Shaw, Jr. of Deland, FL and Lew Beach, NY; three sisters, Elizabeth Shaw Teskey of Deland, FL, Susan Shaw Bazin of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, U.K., and Martha Shaw Sylvester and her husband Donald of Deland, FL; three brothers, Ralph W. Shaw, III of Yalesville, CT, Jeremiah H. Shaw and his wife Deborah of Far Hills, NJ, and Christopher B. Shaw and his wife Julie of Pepper Pike, OH; 13 nieces and nephews; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Purdy Shaw.

Memorial service will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11 AM in the Beaverkill Church, Beaverkill, NY. The Rev. Gareth Icenogle will officiate.
