Peter Selvaggi

Peter M. Selvaggi Sr. a resident of Livingston Manor, NY since 1982,transitioned to be home with our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

The son of Michael and Elizabeth Selvaggi, Peter was born in Tallman,NY on November 7, 1941. Peter is the eldest of 8, raised on a homestead in Pomona, NY. Peter attended St. Joseph's School in Spring Valley, NY. At St.Joseph's, Peter met and remained lifelong friends with Stephen Melnick and Henry Gessner. Peter married Georgette Tymchyshyn Selvaggi on May 1, 1964. The two raised two children, Peter M. Selvaggi Jr. and Nadine E. Selvaggi.

Peter loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and working outdoors with his companion Ruth VanSteenburg at their home at Selvaggi's Sun Valley Mobile Home Park. Peter was a Scout Master and Leader of Troop 105 for over 2 decades.

Survivors include his two children, Peter M. Selvaggi Jr. and Nadine E. Selvaggi; two grand-children Mariah Selvaggi and Dustin Clough; siblings Teresa Reiser, Pasquale Selvaggi, Mary Pizzo, Marlene Allen, Catherine Selvaggi and Gloria Selvaggi; several nieces and nephews; his companion Ruth VanSteenburg; his adopted Trotti family; and the entire Sun Valley family. Peter was pre-deceased by his brother Michael Selvaggi and his grandson Anthony Webb.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 12 noon to 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY. Funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2 PM in the funeral home. Father Edward Bader will officiate. Burial will be in the Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY in the Spring.
