Rachel Soules

Rachel Soules of Downsville, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident died Friday, March 31, 2017 at A.O. Fox Memorial Nursing Home in Oneonta, NY. She was 96.

The daughter of the late Ruben and Ida Donavin Eck, she was born December 25, 1920 in Lackawack, NY.

Rachel had attended Colchester Community Church in Downsville, NY; she enjoyed cooking and tending to her flower gardens.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Soules and his wife Sally of Downsville, NY, Richard Soules of Worcester, NY, and Bruce Soules and his wife Robin of Margaretville, NY; one brother, William Eck and his wife Christine of Hornell, NY; one sister, Grace Banks of Downsville, NY; one special nephew, Ken Eck, Jr.; one special grandson, Bob Soules; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Kenneth Eck; and one sister, Ella Luscomb.

Graveside services and burial will be in the Paige Cemetery in the spring.
