Ramona "Mom" Gonzalez

Ramona “Mom” Gonzalez of Woodbourne, NY, a retired employee for the Community General Hospital in Harris, NY and longtime area resident died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at home with her family at her side. She was 85.

The daughter of the late Pedro and Juanita Alcaide Cruz, she was born May 29, 1933 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico.

Ramona was a member of the Iglesia De Cristo Misionera Asambleas De Dios. She loved to cook for everyone and was a hard worker.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ocasio and her husband Efrain, Sr., Lydia Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Betty Gonzalez, Dennis Gonzalez, Rosa Aragon and her husband Santos, and Diane Reyes and her husband Nelson, and Barry Gonzalez and his companion Tamika; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dionisio “Pop” Gonzalez; two sons, Brian Gonzalez and Che; and two daughters.

Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 12 Noon to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral Services will be Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home. Pastor Luis Arvelo will officiate.

Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
