Raymond Montag

Raymond J. Montag of Liberty, NY, a retired car detailer and a long time area resident, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at his home. He was 86.

The son of the late David and Gertrude Noll Montag, he was born February 21, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY.

Ray was a fun loving, dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family and friends will remember him for his humor and kindness.

Survivors include five daughters, Susan Allen and her husband Jerry of Charlotte, NC, Judy Ellis of Livingston Manor, NY, Carol Torres and her husband Hector of Liberty, NY, Dawn Ostrander and her husband John of Livingston Manor, NY and Wendy Young of Livingston Manor, NY; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia M. Knapp Montag on January 25, 2015; and two sons, Robert Montag and Raymond Montag, Jr.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Burial will be in the Summit Park Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
