Rita Harris

Rita A. Harris of Liberty, NY, a former clothing designer for Montesand & Pruzan Garments in NYC and a long time area resident, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 84.

The daughter of the late Salvatore and Sophie Trentacost Perniciaro, she was born October 12, 1929 in Bronx, NY.

Rita was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Liberty, NY; she had worked as an office manager, billing clerk and secretary for her husband's office in Liberty, from 1964 until retiring in 2012.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. William W. Harris of Liberty, NY; one son, Ronald Borella and his wife Audrey of Bethel, NY; one daughter, Karen DeSantis and her husband Warren of Wellington, FL; one stepson, Daniel Harris; five grandchildren, Josephine Bastone, Darren DeSantis, Kristen DeSantis, Jennifer Harris and Jon Mark Harris; two great grandchildren, Anthony Borella and Alex Bastone.

Visitation will be Monday, June 9, 2014 from 10-11:30 AM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 North Main Street, Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:45 AM. Monsignor Edward Straub will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Rita's name may be made to the St. Peter's Church 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754.
