Robert Otto Hogencamp of White Sulphur Springs, NY, passed away on September 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Robert, son of the late Marie and Otto Hogencamp, was born on April 25, 1932 in White Sulphur Springs, NY.
Robert was retired from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean conflict; a member of the VFW; an honorary member of the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department and former Fire Commissioner; a member and past Master of the Liberty Masonic Lodge 521; Director of Laurel Hill Cemetery; and honorary member of the Buckhorn Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughter, Debra Hogencamp and husband Ronaldo Figueroa; son, Brian Hogencamp and wife Janet Um; sister-in-law, Constance Poley; nephews, Keith Poley and wife Janet, Gregory Poley and wife Tammy, Kenneth Poley and wife Barbara; nieces, Donna Day and husband Dennis, Darlene Goldberg and husband Joel, and Joanne Kehrley. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Cox.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11 AM in the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. The Reverend Bridgette LeConey will officiate. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
