Rochelle Bruce

Rochelle A. Bruce of Middletown, NY, a retired miner, "sandhog" for the City of New York Water Supply and a long time area resident died Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 78.

The son of the late Walter, Sr. and Lottie Williams Bruce, he was born June 24, 1937 in Darlington, SC.

Rochelle enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Delphine McClarin Bruce, at home; three sons, Rochelle Anthony Bruce and his wife Jacqueline of VA, Maurice Martin of Denver, CO, and William Lee Bruce and his wife Melissa of Loch Sheldrake, NY; six daughters, Sheryl Bruce of Baltimore, MD, Valerie Beekman and her husband Charles of Amsterdam, NY, Linda McCullough of Brooklyn, NY, Garlina Finn of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Michelle Bruce of Ellenville, NY, and Timika DiBartolo and her husband Joseph of Liberty, NY; his sister-in-law, Jannie Mae Bruce of Darlington, SC; one aunt, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Edward Van Bruce; and three brothers, Norman, William, and Walter.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Ruth Ward-Sellers will officiate.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
