Roger Carl Neer of Roscoe, NY, a retired quarryman and a life long area resident, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 72.
The son of the late John W., Sr. and Ethel B. Brainard Neer, he was born November 6, 1945 in Livingston Manor, NY.
Roger proudly served our Country in the US Army from 1965 to 1967; he was a former member of the Floyd Keener American Legion Post #315 and a former member of the Harold Wood VFW Post # 5911. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and collected many baseball cards; he enjoyed cross stitch, diamond art, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with this family.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria McUmber Neer, at home; his daughter, Carrie Neer Molinari and her companion Fred Portz of Roscoe, NY; one granddaughter, Samantha Mangus and her husband Calvin of Tucson, AZ; and one grandson, Chase Molinari of Roscoe, NY; one great grandson, Robert, IV; sisters in law, Laura Neer and Catherine Carpenter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his siblings, John Neer, Richard Neer, and Shirley Steele; and one granddaughter, Heather Molinari.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Duane Steele will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.
Memorial contributions in Roger’s name may be made to the Roscoe-Rockland Ladies’ Auxiliary, PO Box 145, Roscoe, NY 12776 and/or to the Roscoe Volunteer Ambulance Corps. PO Box 321, Roscoe, NY 12776.
